Meet our Officers

A lifelong bicycling enthusiast, who is coming back strong after a few decades off for work and raising a family. In addition to cycling extensively throughout Western Pennsylvania, many of our vacations center around bicycle touring areas including Maine, Adirondacks, Virginia, North Carolina, Finger Lakes, Gettysburg, Western Maryland, Niagara Region, Quebec, etc.

I am a retired mechanical engineer and worked as a contractor for the navy my entire career, retiring in 2018. Both riding and wrenching on bikes is something that I have done as far back as I can remember, and I really cannot say which I enjoy doing most. In my mid-20’s I fell away from cycling and became involved in team sports and started travelling more. As I approached my 40’s, my body couldn’t take the physical punishment from soccer and hockey, and I bought a comfort mountain bike, riding the Montour Trail weekly. That prompted me to refurbish my old Schwinn 10 speed, which led to the additional purchase over the years of six complete bikes and three frames that I built up. I enjoy road, gravel, rail trail, and touring, and even own an e-bike, which I have found advantageous for scouting new routes and recovering from injury (and sometimes just to feel like a kid again).

Like a lot of us, I grew up riding any old hand me down bike around my neighborhood. How else where you supposed to see your friends? It stuck with me and I started on the trails and rode them for years. Until one day my dad said, it’s time for you to “graduate”! I bought my first road bike to initially have cycling as something in common that we could share, but the enjoyment took off even further from there. Trail, road, gravel, mountain, you name it and I’m in . I went to the closest bike shop to my house to inquire about cycling around my area and they mentioned Premier Cycling Club. I joined Premier in 2018. I became a lifetime member shortly afterwards. For the last two years I have slowed down, but I miss riding so I am ready to make my come back. This club offers so much. I am looking forward to supporting our club and it’s future.
